Replacement Probe for TW362B Oven Thermometer

Product Description

Replacement probe serves as a spare for the TW362B Original Cooking Thermometer/Timer from ThermoWorks. Affordable price makes it possible to keep a spare on hand to replace burned out or damaged probes. Probe cables will withstand 500 F for short term use to allow for oven browning. The probe itself is rated to 392 F. The probe cable employs high temperature wires insulated with PTFE and protected by a stainless steel overbraid. The cable diameter is small to allow it to be closed in an oven door without creating a heat leak. The probe assembly is not completely waterproof and should not be immersed in water. The tip of the probe tube can be run under a tap or cleaned with a damp rag. (Keep the cable dry.) Keep the probe cable away from heating elements, flames, coals, grill or oven racks - all of which can reach temperature far higher than 500 F. (There are no food-safe, affordable wire technologies that will withstand higher temperatures.) Avoid repeated kinking or twisting the probe cable which can break wires over time. With moderate care probes will last a long time. Designed for the ThermoWorks TW362B Thermometer. May not work with other makes or models of thermometers.

Customer Reviews

I've had my thermoworks oven thermometer for over three years and this is my first probe replacement (I got a spare originally but misplaced it). I've always been pretty careful with the probe according to the maker's recommendations. Turns out I think I finally fried the cable in my backyard BBQ. It quit working. I'm curious so I pulled the metal braiding off the cable and found the inner insulation was melted in one place. Everything was blackened there so I'm pretty sure a flare-up got it. I was doing a brisket and I turned the fire up to add some char. I should have stayed close by. The spare probe came quickly and at a fair price. There was a mini package of jellybellies in the box. Nice touch. I also got a free temperature chart with it. The thermometer works like new now and it seems accurate in boiling water (near sea level here). I wish the probes were fire proof but I've looked and looked and can't find anybody that sells one. For now, I think this is the best deal. This might not work with other probe thermometers. It won't work with my polder and the polder probe doesn't work with my thermoworks (at least not accurately).

I just bought this probe as a backup. I've had my Original Cooking Thermometer for a few years and have used it a lot without any problems. But, I thought I'd better pick up one of these just in case.
