The thermometer and base work good but the probe is too long for small pieces of meat such as chicken breasts. When I used it the temp reported over 200 degrees and I know the meat was not that hot. The only thing I can conclude is that the part of the probe sticking out of the meat was sending the high temp signal.
Love to smoke and needed this to see when my food was done and it worked very good and very pleased with product.
